Good Design Award for MZ Liberec

Divan Design studio is pleased to announce that the collection of wall-mounted panels and bed head units developed for MZ Liberec has received the prestigious GOOD DESIGN Award 2025.

The award is presented by The Chicago Athenaeum and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, institutions that have recognized outstanding achievements in industrial and product design since 1950. Founded by design visionaries such as Eero Saarinen, Charles Eames, and Ray Eames, the program remains one of the oldest and most respected global platforms for evaluating design excellence.

In its 75th edition, the international jury selected winning products from a record number of submissions representing more than 60 countries. The awarded projects represent the highest standards of innovation, functionality, sustainability, and aesthetic quality in contemporary design.

The awarded collection introduces a new modular approach to medical gas distribution and the integration of technologies in healthcare interiors. The wall-mounted panels are built on a flexible frame system that allows gas outlets, electrical sockets, switches, and LED lighting modules to be combined into a single compact unit tailored precisely to individual project requirements. The clean and restrained form supports easy maintenance, washability, and straightforward installation, while the customizable front surfaces enable seamless integration into existing architectural environments.

The bed head unit is based on a robust aluminum profile complemented by shaped end caps, allowing flexible length adjustments and left- or right-side configurations of medical gas outlets and low-current installations. The design emphasizes simplicity enriched with discreet technical solutions, such as hidden side ventilation that visually lightens the unit by offsetting it from the wall, and a sloped top surface that prevents objects from being placed on it. The system also accommodates a wide range of accessories and can be equipped with direct, indirect, or night LED lighting. Antibacterial surface finishes, a minimal number of joints, and a compact form further enhance hygiene and durability. The result is a product family that combines high functionality, production efficiency, and a refined visual identity.
