Divan Design

We specialize in industrial and product design. Our work has earned numerous prestigious awards, including the Red Dot Award, the Good Design Award and the DesignEuropa Award. But our greatest recognition comes from satisfied clients and successful products.

We are a team of seven professionals, led by Ivan Dlabač, founder of the studio and Head of the Industrial Design Studio at UMPRUM, the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague.

We combine vision with technical expertise. We listen, understand the bigger picture and turn ideas into functional products. Our designs don’t end up sitting in a drawer – they become reality. We make this happen by following the principles that guide our work.

We have delivered dozens of projects across a wide range of industries, from machinery, equipment and consumer products to furniture, graphic design and trade fair exhibitions. WORKING WITH US

1. 01 First contact

   Were you referred to us, or did one of our projects catch your eye? We’d be happy to meet for an informal, no-obligation conversation. We start by looking at your competitors and asking plenty of questions to understand your needs and define the right brief. A non-disclosure agreement (NDA) protects any confidential information.

2. 02 Project agreement

   We prepare a project proposal outlining our approach, scope and timeline. The budget is usually split into two phases. Once everything is agreed, we get to work.

3. 03 Design concept

   We explore the core idea, balancing aesthetics, ergonomics and manufacturing requirements. Through sketching, discussion and 3D visualisation, we develop and refine different options. Your feedback helps us select the concept with the greatest potential for success.

4. 04 Design development & production

   We refine every detail and prepare the final 3D data and visualisations. Working closely with engineers, we ensure the design is ready for manufacture and support prototype development. We stay by your side all the way through to production launch.

5. 05 Ongoing support

   We can help with product variations, further development and marketing materials – from graphic assets to exhibition stands.
