We won the DesignEuropa Award as the first Czechs in history

We have received the prestigious DesignEuropa Award 2024, granted by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). The Essenza 300 LT bed by Linet won in the industrial design category, competing against 800 products and surpassing, among others, the design titan Bang & Olufsen with their speaker. Together with Linet's engineering team, our studio Divan Design created the technologically advanced Essenza 300 LT bed, featuring lateral, or longitudinal, tilt. The jury praised the bed's exceptional functional form and ergonomics, ensuring patient safety and facilitating the staff's work.

Why is this award so significant? Ivan Dlabač, chief designer of DIVAN DESIGN and head of the Industrial Design Studio at UMPRUM, explains: "Unlike other design awards, in this case, the studio or designer does not submit a paid application. Instead, products are nominated and awarded by the European Union Intellectual Property Office, which, through a commission of experienced experts, selects from all registered designs for the given year." Furthermore, the awards are granted in only four categories. No Czech design has ever received this recognition until now.
